Swiss unveils new first class product
Swiss has unveiled its new first class cabin, which it plans to gradually bring in to service from this spring.
One of the biggest selling points of the first class product for travellers will be its lie-flat seat, which can extend to more than two metres in length and includes a down-filled duvet and a pneumatic air cushion.
Additional features include a 23-inch inflight entertainment screen and a guest seat that will allow first class customers to dine or work with a fellow passenger in their cabin.
Christoph Beckmann, Swiss' chief marketing and product officer, said the airline was "setting new benchmarks for individual travel" with its new first class option.
He added: "Our 'suite above the clouds' underlines Swiss' positioning as a top quality airline, and marks a further consistent step in our ongoing quality drive, both on the ground and in the air."
The first class cabin will be introduced in conjunction with a fleet renewal programme through which Swiss will replace its Airbus A330-200 aircraft with the more fuel-efficient A330-300.
From its UK bases of London City Airport, Heathrow Airport, Manchester Airport and Birmingham Airport, Swiss offers daily flights to Basel, Geneva and Zurich in Switzerland.
