Etihad picks up two Irish travel awards
Etihad Airways picked up two big awards at the recent Irish Travel Trade News Awards.
The national airline of the United Arab Emirates was named the best business class carrier for the second year running and the best airline flying to the Middle East and Africa.
Etihad, which is based in Abu Dhabi, was also the runner-up in the 'best airline to Asia and Australasia' category.
Beatrice Cosgrove, the airline's country manager in Ireland, said: "Etihad Airways enjoyed a very successful 2008 in Ireland, achieving an average seat factor of 80 per cent, and so to be recognised by the travel agents of Ireland and Northern Ireland is a great privilege.
"We are committed to our relationship with the Irish travel trade and providing a premier service to our Irish customers."
Etihad, which currently operates daily flights between Dublin and Abu Dhabi, will celebrate its second anniversary of flights to Ireland in July this year.
