Italy will be able to expand their knowledge of the great scientist Charles Darwin this year when a touring exhibition dedicated to him comes to the country.
The display will open at the Palazzo delle Esposizione in
Rome from February 12th to May 3rd before heading to
Milan to open at the Rotonda della Besana on June 4th.
Based on an exhibition originally organised by the American Museum of Natural History in
New York, the showcase is being launched in Italy to mark the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth.
All sorts of themes and subject areas are explored in the display, including the significance of Darwin's theory of evolution with regards to science, naturalism and history.
Visitors will be able to learn about the scientist's adventurous early life and the epic five-year journey that enabled him to develop the ideas for his book On the Origin of Species.
The Palazzo delle Esposizione is the largest interdisciplinary exhibition area in central
Rome, while the Rotonda is considered one of the finest examples of 18th century architecture in
Milan.
