Bmibaby has announced that it will extend its range of available flights to Mediterranean destinations from
Birmingham Airport,
East Midlands Airport and
Manchester Airport this summer.
The carrier will provide extra services to
Menorca and
Almeria from East Midlands Airport, along with additional flights to
Palma from Manchester Airport.
Birmingham Airport will see its summer network expanded when bmibaby launches new flights from the hub to
Faro,
Murcia,
Malaga and
Alicante.
In total, the airline will add 30 new flights a week to and from these holiday hotspots over the peak summer months.
Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, said: "The additional weekly flights will allow us to carry over 2,000 extra passengers to popular sun destinations every week.
"The extra capacity will also make bmibaby the largest low-cost carrier flying from the Midlands to the Mediterranean and our great low fares mean that people can still afford to get away for a holiday this year."
Birmingham Airport recently revealed that it handled 561,648 passengers in January, a number that included a 3.5 per cent increase on flights to European destinations.
