San Francisco bay cruise reaches 70th anniversary
A popular bay cruise in San Francisco is this year celebrating its 70th anniversary.
The city's Red and White Fleet, which operates the cruise, described it as an "original sightseeing tradition" that has carried millions of passengers over the past seven decades.
Priced at $22 (£16) for adults, the one-hour tour takes guests under the Golden Gate Bridge and past Alcatraz, the infamous prison that once held inmates including Al Capone and George 'Machine Gun' Kelly.
Along the way, passengers can listen to an audio track offering an insight into the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge and telling stories from former inmates of Alcatraz.
The Red and White Fleet also operates the SF Explorer tour, which focuses on natural history and Native American heritage, and the California Sunset cruise, which includes food and live music.
Flights to San Francisco are available with carriers including British Airways, American Airlines and KLM.
