Southampton Airport wins customer service award

Southampton Airport has received an award from the Airports Council International (ACI) stating that it has the most courteous staff in Europe.

The accolade was the result of a survey gathering the views of more than 200,000 passengers worldwide on the performance of some 108 aviation hubs.

Various aspects of the airport experience were covered in the survey, from check-in to flight departure.

As well as winning the award for staff courtesy, Southampton Airport was named the second best hub in Europe after Zurich in Switzerland.

Kevin Brown, managing director of the south coast gateway, said: "At Southampton Airport we place great emphasis on providing friendly service and a quick and easy experience for passengers.

"We refer to this as 'breeze through' and it is certainly really popular with passengers travelling throughout Europe."

Southampton Airport hosts flights to destinations including Alicante, Brussels and Paris provided by Flybe, Eastern Airways, Air France and other carriers.
