Oman diving scene to be promoted in London
The national tourist board of Oman will be among the exhibitors at the London Dive Show this weekend, where it will promote the opportunities for scuba diving and snorkelling in the country.
London's ExCeL centre will be the venue for the Dive Show on March 28th and 29th, providing a platform for holiday destinations, travel providers, equipment manufacturers and other companies related to diving.
At the Oman tourist board stand, visitors will be informed of the country's "untouched coastline" and its many features.
The country, which borders the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in the Middle East, boasts some 1,700km of coastline, with shipwrecks, coral reefs and other marine habitats situated along it.
Popular diving locations in Oman include the Al Munassir wreck not far from Muscat, the Damaniyat archipelago an hour north of the capital and the Musandam peninsula.
Travellers planning a diving holiday later in the year or in 2010 may be interested in visiting the Dive 2009 show at the NEC in Birmingham on October 24th and 25th.
