The national tourist board of
Italy has announced details of new hotels and resorts set to open this year, which will offer extra accommodation options for tourists in various regions across the country.
One of the most high-profile openings could be the Castel Monastero resort in the Chianti area of Tuscany, which occupies a four-hectare site and comprises 76 guestrooms and suites.
Leisure facilities at the country house include a Gordon Ramsay-branded restaurant, two bars, two outdoor pools and a spa and wellness centre.
Travellers planning to head to
Naples for their summer holiday this year can stay in the four-star Hotel Palazzo Decumani, which was recently the subject of a restoration project to improve its rooms and facilities.
In
Rome, a similar development has taken place at Hotel Homs, which now boasts 53 guestrooms, while the city's culinary scene has been strengthened by the recent opening of the Il Cuoco Nero restaurant in the Salario quarter.
There will be some new travel options on offer to people visiting Italy this year, including new
easyJet flights to
Naples, which will launch from
Gatwick Airport on May 1st and
Liverpool Airport on June 1st.
