'Bumper Easter' in store for Flybe
Flybe has revealed that it is expecting an eight per cent year-on-year increase in ticket sales over the forthcoming Easter period.
Seat load factors are expected to top 90 per cent on certain routes, with Good Friday (April 10th) set to be one of the busiest days for travel.
Belfast, the Scottish Highlands and the Channel Islands are proving popular ahead of the holiday as people travel to visit family members and relatives.
Flybe also revealed that it has seen high demand for particular routes including its services from Birmingham to Aberdeen, Southampton to Belfast City and Exeter to Rennes.
Mike Rutter, the airline's chief commercial officer, said: "With just days to go, we're forecasting a bumper Easter weekend and also experiencing a higher than average rate of last minute bookings.
"Domestic travel has proved to be the most popular for families looking to get together over the long weekend. Travelling direct from regional airports is a far more convenient option for families, as it allows them to avoid the heavily congested roads."
Flybe launched a new service to Newquay from Gatwick Airport earlier this year that has been popular with travellers connecting to onward flights to destinations ranging from Copenhagen to Abuja.
