Legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen is to play a series of dates across
Europe this summer, it has been confirmed.
The star, who is enjoying something of an Indian summer, is currently performing across
North America, where he will play cities including
Los Angeles,
Vancouver and
New York.
Now, it has been confirmed that he will be following these up with a string of European dates, kicking off in
Berlin on July 2nd.
Cohen will then play
Paris,
Belfast,
Dublin and other cities, with all shows likely to sell out well before the date.
Following his initial success in the early 1960s and 1970s, the singer gained a new audience almost three decades later, thanks largely to cover versions of his best-known song Hallelujah.
Alongside the Jeff Buckley version, the song has also been used in the soundtrack to the movie Shrek, while UK X Factor winner Alexandra Burke shot to the top of the charts with her interpretation.
