New hotel opened in Costa Rica
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of the first Hotel Indigo property in the Central America region in San Jose, Costa Rica.
As part of an international rollout of the brand, IHG has opened the hotel in the neighbourhood of Santa Ana, with easy access to restaurants and shopping areas and a 15-minute journey to Juan Santamaria Airport.
The hotel chain claims that the 100-room property is based in a location that provides "an ideal starting point" for exploration of several "compelling eco-tourism destinations".
Alvaro Diago, IHG's area president in Latin America, said: "IHG is very well represented in Costa Rica and the opening of Hotel Indigo further strengthens our position as the countrys leading international hotel company."
The hotel group has more than 160 properties in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
Earlier this year, the company opened its first Hotel Indigo property outside North America in London.
