The American Society of Travel Agents (Asta) has offered a number of pointers for soon-to-be married couples on how to plan the perfect honeymoon.
One thing to bear in mind, the
US association advised, is the importance of accommodation - the amount of time spent in hotel rooms on a honeymoon means that "this is not a place to cut corners", according to Asta.
It can be useful to set out a budget and use this to prioritise activities to spend money on, sights to see and other holiday aspects.
While it is important to ensure that there is plenty to do, Asta also recommended that honeymooners leave a fair amount of free time to ensure that they can simply relax and enjoy one another's company.
Arguably the most important choice of all is destination, something which couples were advised to select together to ensure that both parties will enjoy the holiday.
The US boasts plenty of attributes for newlyweds to enjoy on their romantic getaway, from the glamour of
Los Angeles and the bright lights of
Las Vegas to the vibrant culture and style of
New York.
