Icelandair promotes running events
Icelandair has invited sports fans to pay a visit to Iceland over the coming months to see or take part in a number of running events that will be taking place across the country.
The running season will get underway on June 23rd with the Midnight Run, which is geared to participants of all abilities with 3km, 5km and 10km routes, followed by the opportunity to relax in the Laugardalslaug thermal pools.
Visitors to Iceland may be more interested in simply watching the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon on 18 July, a gruelling event that is held on a well-known hiking route.
The race takes in the Landmannalaugur and Thorsmork scenic areas, making it a highly enjoyable event for spectators.
Scheduled for August 22nd is the Reykjavik Marathon, which concludes with the city-wide celebration of Culture Night, an event featuring live music, street entertainment and fireworks.
Icelandair recently urged travellers to pay a visit to Reykjavik, a destination it flies to from London Heathrow and Manchester Airport, to take part in wildlife tours during Iceland's whale-watching season.
