Beachgoers advised to take early summer breaks
Holidaymakers planning plenty of lazing around on the beach during their summer breaks this year have been advised by bmibaby to visit Spain or Portugal in May or June to avoid the summer rush.
People who arrange their trips soon will be able to enjoy "empty beaches" in destinations such as Alicante, Malaga and the Algarve, according to the airline.
Popular seafront hotspots in Alicante include the Blue Flag beach of Playa del Postiguet and Playa de San Juan, which offers access to an 18-hole golf course.
Holidaymakers planning to visit the Algarve can head to the town of Olhao just outside Faro to take a ferry trip to Ilha da Culatra, which boasts clear blue waters and clean sandy beaches.
The Balearic islands of Majorca and Menorca also offer a broad choice of beaches, from broad expanses of seafront to secluded coves.
Bmibaby's range of services to leading summer holiday destinations includes flights from East Midlands Airport to Alicante, Manchester Airport to Malaga and Cardiff Airport to Faro.
