Austrian Airlines launches new flights to Amman
Austrian Airlines has expanded its network in the Middle East with new flights from Vienna to Amman in Jordan.
The new service launched yesterday (May 5th) and increases the airline's number of destinations in the Middle East to 15.
An Airbus A320 aircraft is being used to operate the flights, offering a business class option that blends "Austrian hospitality and Oriental flair", according to Austrian Airlines.
The incorporation of Amman into the carrier's network is part of a 'focus east' strategy that has already seen it boost its network in central and eastern Europe to 45 destinations.
Travellers can now reach cities including Dubai, Cairo, Tel Aviv and Riyadh with Austrian Airlines via its hub in Vienna.
Dubai was voted the Middle East's leading destination at the World Travel Awards this week, while Petra in Jordan was named the region's top tourist attraction.
