British Airways will launch new flights to the
Caribbean for its 2009-10 winter season.
The twice-weekly services from
London Gatwick to Montego Bay in
Jamaica and
Punta Cana in the
Dominican Republic will begin on October 25th.
British Airways also announced that it would be increasing frequency to
Barbados,
Trinidad and
St Lucia this year in order to meet increased demand for travel to the Caribbean.
The airline will offer 45 weekly flights to the region - more than any other UK carrier - and serve 13 destinations.
Richard Tams, head of UK and Ireland sales for British Airways, said: "These new routes and increased frequencies underline our commitment to the Caribbean.
"It's a popular destination with our customers and it's due to demand that we're increasing the number of flights to the region."
Other Caribbean destinations that travellers can fly to with British Airways include
Antigua,
Kingston and
Grenada.
