Discount Australian river cruises on offer

Travellers visiting Australia over the coming months will have the opportunity to take advantage of a special offer on cruises along the Murray river.

During the country's mild winter months from June to August, Captain Cook Cruises will be offering half-price trips to people travelling with a passenger paying the full fare onboard the PS Murray Princess paddle-wheeler.

The offer is available on three-, four- and seven-night Murray river cruises during Australia's winter months.

Trips on the Murray river give travellers the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, including 350 species of bird, as well as picturesque gorges, limestone cliffs and other scenery.

Captain Cook Cruises also offers activities including nature walks, eco-tours and visits to historic ports and Aboriginal sites.

The Murray is the largest river in Australia. It passes through the states of South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria, which are home to the cities of Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.
