Virgin Atlantic, bmi extend codeshare deal
The codeshare arrangement between Virgin Atlantic and bmi has been extended, meaning that the latter has been able to add nine new destinations to its route network from Heathrow Airport.
Under the new agreement, bmi can sell direct flights from London Heathrow to a number of destinations in the US, including Chicago, Boston, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The deal also covers Dubai, Nairobi and other destinations in bmi's expanding network of routes to Russia and the Middle East.
Katherine Gershon, the airline's sales and marketing director, said: "We are delighted to be extending our network through this codeshare deal with Virgin Atlantic, offering our customers an even greater choice of international destinations.
"Bmi customers in the north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland can now book bmi all the way to the USA."
Earlier this year, bmi expanded its presence in the Middle East with the launch of a second daily service from London Heathrow to Tel Aviv in Israel.
