'Incredible' value for money on offer in Malta
The Mediterranean island of Malta may surprise visitors with its affordability this year, according to the local tourist board.
Referring to the recent Holiday Costs study released by the Post Office, the Malta Tourism Authority pointed out that the island was found to be more affordable than Egypt, despite the fact that it is part of the eurozone.
Overall, Malta was found to be the third cheapest eurozone destination behind Spain and Portugal.
Alex Incorvaja, UK director of the Malta Tourism Authority, said: "Much attention has focused on non-eurozone destinations such as Egypt over the last few months but Malta still offers incredible value for money as a holiday destination, as the survey proves.
"Even with the current exchange rate, a cup of coffee on Malta will only set you back £0.96 whilst a bottle of beer averages £1.34."
Travellers can catch flights to Malta with a number of airlines, including British Airways, Air Malta and Lufthansa.
