Bmi opens new lounge at Heathrow Airport
Bmi has opened a new international lounge at its base at Heathrow Airport.
The new facility, which has been given the name bmi Number One Heathrow, has been developed "with customer comforts in mind", the airline said.
A number of partnerships have been formed to support the lounge opening, including a collaboration between bmi and ice cream manufacturer Mark Hix, whose products will be available at the airport and also on mid-haul business class menus.
Other amenities on offer at the new lounge include a study area providing free wireless internet access, a bar, a restaurant and a selection of chairs and day beds.
The facility is open to gold and silver Diamond Club members, bmi business class passengers and Star Alliance gold customers.
Bmi claims to be "the number one airline out of London Heathrow's Terminal 1".
The airline operates a network of services from the hub that includes flights to Abu Dhabi, Johannesburg and Philadelphia.
