Oneworld brings travel stations to New York, Stockholm
The oneworld airline alliance has announced that it has installed its travel information stations at New York JFK and Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Travellers can use the stations to access guides, tips and advice on 28 of the world's most popular destinations.
Owners of smartphones, laptops and other compatible devices can also use the units to download useful information and tools such as language guides and audio casts.
The installation of the travel station in New York marks the first time that one of the systems has been launched outside Europe, following the introduction of the technology in Amsterdam, Brussels and Milan last September.
Filip Lemmens, oneworld's commercial director, said: "The oneworld travel stations are aimed at building awareness of oneworld in some of our key target markets in a novel, interactive and interesting way.
"Their attractive and interactive design and the fantastic information provided by Lonely Planet reflect oneworld key virtues - the world-class quality of our airlines, the breadth of their networks and our determination to provide customers with great value and service."
The oneworld alliance was founded by carriers including American Airlines and British Airways in 1998 and now counts Japan Airlines and Royal Jordanian among its members.
