Singapore to host season of GP events
There will be a range of events and activities on offer to people visiting Singapore in September this year as the city-state prepares to host its second Formula One grand prix.
Highlights of the Singapore GP season will include a performance by pop opera group Il Divo, who will sing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on September 21st.
Visitors will also be able to attend Asia on the Edge, a lifestyle festival that will be held at the Arts House and the Empress Place precinct from September 18th to 27th.
Margaret Teo of the Singapore Tourism Board said: "Singapore has the unique advantage of staging a Formula One race right in the heart of the Marina area and in close proximity to Singapore River and Orchard Road.
"Through the Singapore GP season, we want to provide a total race experience for spectators and encourage them to explore our key tourism precincts which are easily accessible and offer a wide range of lifestyle offerings."
The SingTel Singapore Grand Prix, which is the only night race on the Formula One calendar, will be held on the weekend of September 25th to 27th.
It will be followed by events in Suzuka, Sao Paulo and Abu Dhabi.
