Staff at
Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) recently took part in a promotional campaign to highlight the number of international destinations accessible from the base with
KLM via the airline's hub in
Amsterdam.
Airport workers visited travel agents across north-west England wearing costumes and carrying items that represented some of the 650 worldwide destinations served by KLM.
The staff members offered food native to
India, the
US,
Egypt and
Japan and also launched a competition to win two return flights to one of a number of international locations.
Kate Waiton, sales manager for Peel Airports Group, said: "We certainly caused a bit of a stir visiting the agents, but were all welcomed everywhere we went with our foreign food and prizes.
"It's been a great way to highlight just where agents can book their customers to, by flying via Amsterdam from JLA."
From
Schiphol Airport in
Amsterdam, KLM operates an extensive international network that includes flights to
Kuala Lumpur,
Dubai and
Miami.
