New facilities on offer to skiers in Aspen
Travellers taking skiing holidays in the US resort of Aspen this winter will be able to take advantage of a number of new tourist facilities and amenities.
The Aspen Skiing Company is set to invest nearly $8 million (£4.8 million) in a number of on-mountain improvements this season, adding to the $130 million that it has allocated to the resort over the past six years.
One of the biggest developments will be the completion of the first phase of a major room renovation at the five-star Little Nell hotel, which will also boast a new restaurant.
A brand new hotel will be opening this year in the form of the Viceroy Snowmass, which will comprise 152 guestrooms, a 7,000-square-foot spa, a restaurant and a cafe.
Aspen is one of North America's most popular ski resorts, benefiting from more than 300 inches of snow every year combined with over 300 days of sunshine.
Flights to Denver, the state capital of Colorado and the closest big city to Aspen, are available with British Airways, United Airlines, bmi and other carriers.
