Icelandair expands flights from UK to Iceland
British holidaymakers are set to benefit from even more flights to Iceland over the next few months, with Icelandair announcing that it is to expand its operations out of Manchester Airport and Glasgow Airport.
While many UK travellers used to be priced-out of a trip to Iceland, recent fluctuations in the world's currency markets has placed the country firmly on the short-break destination map.
As a result, the national carrier has announced that, from September 25th, it will operate four flights per week between both Glasgow and Manchester and Reykjavik, with flights to Iceland leaving on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
In addition to making the Icelandic capital even more accessible to British travellers, the new flights will also offer improved connections to Icelandair's North American services.
The airline's general manager for the UK and Ireland, Hjovar Saeberg Hognason said: "This will provide our passengers with increased convenience and flexibility to travel to Iceland to take advantage of the favourable exchange rate, plus increase the options for connecting onwards to fantastic destinations like New York City, Boston, Seattle and more."
As well as its natural beauty, Iceland is also famed for its nightlife, with the capital boasting more than 100 bars and clubs, most of which are concentrated on the main thoroughfare of Laugavegur and its side streets.
