City breaks in
Toronto could prove popular with contemporary art fans in October as the destination hosts the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche event.
More than 550 artists are set to participate in the project, which is described as a "sunset to sunrise celebration of contemporary art".
Taking place from dusk on October 3rd until dawn the following day, Nuit Blanche will see more than 130 art installations placed at various locations around
Toronto.
Some of the city's galleries and museums will participate in the initiative, as well as more unusual sites such as bus stations, churches, grocery stores and chimney stacks.
One of the most high-profile exhibits will be an installation of four light sculptures by the artist DA Therrien. The pieces will be suspended 65 metres in the air between the towers of City Hall, one of Toronto's most distinctive landmarks.
People interested in seeing the Nuit Blanche exhibits can catch flights to Toronto with
Air Canada,
British Airways,
United Airlines and other carriers.
More information on the project is available on its
official website.
