Travellers urged to visit Dubai during Ramadan
People who choose holiday destinations on the basis of their cultural offerings have been encouraged to pay a visit to Dubai during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
Muslims all over the world fast during daylight hours in observance of Ramadan, a historic tradition that falls approximately between August 21st and September 19th this year.
According to the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the emirate "comes to life" at sundown during Ramadan, with banquets being held at restaurants and hotels, often accompanied by dancing and performances by local musicians.
A visit to Dubai this summer will also provide the opportunity to take advantage of the city's 'kids go free' promotion, which is running at attractions including Montgomerie Golf Club, Dubai Aquarium and Dolphin Bay at Atlantis the Palm.
Ian Scott, UK and Ireland director of the DTCM, said: "Ramadan offers a great opportunity for visitors to take advantage of Dubai's cultural offering. Dubai is proud to promote its Arabian heritage alongside its outstanding contemporary offering, which combine to appeal to guests of all ages.
"And with the 'kids go free' promotion running throughout Ramadan, there is no better time to take full advantage of Dubai's unrivalled affordable luxury offering."
People interested in visiting the United Arab Emirates this summer can catch flights to Dubai with Emirates, Qatar Airways, Virgin Atlantic and other carriers.
