Continental offering discount New York helicopter flights
People catching Continental Airlines flights to New York this year may have the opportunity to treat themselves to a helicopter ride over the city.
The carrier announced that it was offering a special discount fare of $59 (£36), excluding additional charges, for helicopter connections from its New York hub of Newark Liberty Airport to Manhattan in the centre of the city.
Business class passengers travelling on select international fares to New York with Continental Airlines are offered the helicopter flights free of charge.
Operated by US Helicopter, the connections are available from Monday to Friday between the hours of 13:15 and 19:40 local time.
On the return trips to Newark Liberty Airport, travellers will receive Transport Security Administration clearance at the Manhattan heliport near Wall Street and will also be able to check in and receive a boarding pass.
Continental Airlines provides flights to New York from Heathrow Airport, Bristol Airport, Birmingham Airport, Edinburgh Airport and other bases in the UK.
The carrier also has hubs in the US destinations of Houston and Guam.
