Turkey, Egypt and Thailand 'offer great value'
There is currently "great value" on offer to British holidaymakers in Turkey, Thailand and Egypt, according to a travel industry expert.
Sharron Livingston, editor of the Travel Magazine, said that there are deals to be had in these destinations for holidaymakers who are willing to take the time to look.
Countries outside Europe could prove popular among British travellers this year following the activity on currency markets in recent times, with sterling receiving what Ms Livingston describes as a "severe pounding".
Despite this, established hotspots such as France and Spain are still expected to attract British visitors in large numbers.
"Turkey, Egypt and Thailand are proving to be great value holiday destinations and there are deals to be had if you are prepared to do a little research," Ms Livingston said.
"Easy-to-access hotspots [in] traditionally popular countries such as Spain and France remain popular despite the strong euro because links are good and the British market is well catered for."
Two-fifths of British families who responded to a recent Tesco Travel Money survey said they have not yet booked their summer holiday, with a third biding their time for financial reasons.
