Air Canada launches iPhone app
A new application for the Apple iPhone has been launched by Air Canada, making the airline the first North American carrier to do so.
The app will allow iPhone users to access flight data, receive information about their journeys and obtain their boarding pass in an electronic form.
In addition, the app will enable phone holders to track their flights from one location and receive messages updating them on the travel situation.
Ben Smith, executive vice-president and chief commercial officer at Air Canada, said: " Air Canada continues to be an industry leader in offering customers mobile and wireless services that provide real-time information and convenient functions for people who are on the move.
"We are significantly expanding these options with the release of our Air Canada App, which will enable travellers using an Apple iPhone or iPod touch device to check-in, board and obtain other details about Air Canada flights."
The airline recently announced plans to launch Montreal to Brussels flights from next summer.
