Bmibaby has announced that it will be launching flights from
Manchester Airport to Lourdes in summer 2010.
Set to run from April 30th to October 1st next year, the seasonal flights to
Lourdes are expected to carry more than 9,000 passengers.
Travellers will be able to catch two weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays when the new service gets underway.
The route will represent the only low-cost link between
Manchester Airport and Lourdes, which is a market town in the foothills of the Pyrenees, close to the border between
France and
Spain.
Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, said the airline was pleased to offer the chance for travellers based in north-west England to visit "an exciting new destination".
He added: "We recently went on sale with 18 other destinations for summer 2010 from Manchester Airport, to allow our customers to plan ahead and secure the best deals for next year."
Other destinations served by the low-cost airline from Manchester Airport include
Barcelona,
Prague and
Amsterdam.
