Brussels Airlines has added four destinations in
Africa to its network as a result of its partnership with
Lufthansa.
The codeshare between the carriers means that the
Brussels-based airline now offers flights to
Cape Town and
Johannesburg in
South Africa,
Khartoum in
Sudan and
Accra in
Ghana.
Travellers can choose from first, economy and
business class on the routes, which Brussels Airlines will operate via
Frankfurt.
The carrier said that Ghana is becoming an increasingly important destination for business travellers, who will now be able to catch five weekly flights to the country from
Belgium.
Brussels Airlines serves a total of 16 destinations on the African continent.
The company also operates an intercontinental network that includes flights to the
United Arab Emirates,
Thailand and
India, as well as 33 destinations in
North America via
Chicago and
New York.
In December last year, Brussels Airlines received an official invitation to join Star Alliance, a network that also includes
Air Canada,
bmi,
Singapore Airlines and other carriers.
