Qatar Airways wins TTG award
Qatar Airways was among the winners at the TTG Travel Awards ceremony in London last night (September 22nd).
The event was held to recognise the top achievers in the travel industry, covering everything from airlines and hotels to travel agents and tourist boards.
Qatar Airways picked up the award for the leading airline, while Manchester Airport was named the UK's best air travel hub.
The awards were decided through a combination of travel agents' votes and the opinions of a panel of industry experts.
Lucy Huxley, editor of TTG, said: "These awards are regarded as a universal benchmark of quality within the travel industry.
"All the winners demonstrated that they have innovative and robust business models which are expanding and thriving despite the economic downturn."
Other winners on the night included Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing in the tourist board category and Iberostar Hotels and Resorts, which was named the best hotel chain.
