Emirates promoting Dubai

Emirates promoting Dubai
Emirates has launched an advertising campaign promoting Dubai.

The airline has created a series of commercials that focus on "real people" who live in the city, such as Paul Hamilton, who swims with sharks, and restaurant director Etienne Haro.

Actor Kevin Sacre, who has appeared in British soap opera Hollyoaks, also features in the adverts, trying local cuisine in Al Satwa and testing out a water slide at Atlantis The Palm.

The commercials were launched on CNN, BBC World, Google, Yahoo and other media channels on September 27th.

Boutros Boutros, Emirates' vice-president of corporate communications, said: "Some may question our launching this massive ad campaign at a time of economic turmoil around the world but Emirates is confident that there is nothing more important than investing to win new customers.

"We believe it will surprise viewers and bust certain myths about Dubai."

The airline operates flights to Dubai from UK hubs including Heathrow Airport, Newcastle Airport and Glasgow Airport.
