People considering treating themselves to a luxury break next year will have the opportunity to travel to the
US and catch flights to Hawaii with
Continental Airlines.
The carrier confirmed that it would be introducing new flights to
Kahului Airport in Maui from
Los Angeles and to
Honolulu from
Santa Ana in Orange County.
Continental will also be adding a second daily service to its route to Honolulu from
Los Angeles, with all of the flights set to begin operating on March 7th 2010.
A Boeing 737 with 173 seats will be used on this additional daily flight.
Jim Compton, the airline's executive vice-president of marketing, said: "With more destinations in the Pacific than any US carrier, we are pleased to offer our customers additional travel options to Hawaii.
"The flights will provide increased convenience to travellers and will complement routes provided by future Star Alliance partners."
Holidaymakers can fly to a number of other destinations that are part of the state of Hawaii, such as
Kona and
Hilo.
