Beach retreat to open in Mozambique
Travellers planning a trip to southern Africa in the future will have the opportunity to visit a new beach resort in Mozambique.
Due to open in December this year, Coral Lodge 15.41 is based on a peninsula within the Varanda nature reserve in northern Mozambique.
The area boasts natural features including beaches, dunes and mangroves and is close to Mozambique Island, the country's former capital and a Unesco World Heritage site.
Guests will be accommodated in ten seafront villas and offered access to facilities including the Reef restaurant, large verandas with chairs and a daybed, several sitting areas and an outdoor shower.
The resort will also provide the opportunity to try adventurous outdoor pursuits such as sailing, snorkelling, canoeing and whale watching during the migration season in August and September.
Flights to Maputo, Beira and other destinations in Mozambique are provided by carriers such as Kenya Airways and South African Airways.
