The range of attractions and activities on offer in
Belgium this Christmas will mean that the country offers "something for everyone", according to Tourism Flanders.
People planning
festive breaks will be able to head to
Brussels to explore some of the markets that will be open throughout the capital.
Brave visitors will also have the opportunity to test out their balance on the 1,000-square-metre ice rink that is constructed every year on
Brussels' Grote Markt.
In Bruges, travellers will be able to see some impressive creations at the Snow and Ice Sculpture exhibition, while the city of Ghent will host live jazz, folk and rock performances, as well as a giant fireworks display on New Year's Eve.
Other destinations in Belgium that will be providing Christmas events and entertainment this year include
Antwerp, Leuven and Ypres.
Dawn Page, director of Tourism Flanders-Brussels in the UK, said: "The Christmas markets in Flanders have always represented the best of festive food, culture and entertainment and are becoming increasingly
popular with British visitors.
"This year, there really is something for everybody."
