Brits looking to enjoy a skiing break during the winter can take advantage of a range of flights to the Pyrenees, a representative from a French airport has claimed.
Chantal Pitin, head of leisure traffic development at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, said that chartered flights run from a number of locations across the UK including Bristol,
Edinburgh and
London.
Last winter was an especially good season for skiers due to the amount of snow which fell, meaning many holidaymakers "enjoyed their stay there", she explained.
Ms Pitin explained: "It's special because you have snow as well as the sun.
"We are in the south of France and what is different about the resort is that they are little resorts, family resorts, so the atmosphere is very different from the Alps."
Statistics from New in Midi-Pyrenees revealed that the mountain destination is the sixth most popular region in
France for tourists.
The destination represents 4.5 per cent of France's international tourism market.
