new route to the beach destination of Goa has been launched by
Qatar Airways.
European holidaymakers looking for a winter break should be able to take advantage of the new route between
Doha and
Goa.
The airline can provide a number of connecting flights from Europe to allow tourists to discover a destination which is both "different" and desirable", according to the company.
Akbar Al Baker, chief executive officer at the airline, said: "Qatar Airways is delighted to have extended its reach in this wonderful country of India with the arrival of our first flight to Goa.
"With a huge Goan community living and working in the Gulf, our new route has been long awaited and will help facilitate travel for expatriates between our two regions and beyond."
Qatar Airways is the first long haul airline to offer an international flight to the beach destination.
The airline is to offer non-stop flights from Doha to
Melbourne from December while two other destinations will be launched in Europe.
