British skiers receive better value in La Tania
Holidaymakers who want to enjoy skiing during the winter months should look at La Tania in France as a possible resort to try, a tourist body has claimed.
According to the Office de Tourisme de La Tania, there is a large English community in the area with many tourists visiting to take advantage of the surrounding slopes.
Smaller resorts such as La Tania are much cheaper than the bigger, more popular areas for skiers, the organisation explained.
Arnaud Favet, charge de promotion for Office de Tourisme de La Tania, said: "La Tania is 20 to 30 per cent cheaper in terms of accommodation, compared to Courchevel and Meribel. They are more luxurious, whereas [La Tania] is more family orientated - but it is also good for nightlife."
He added: "The centre of the resort is car free so you have to ski in and ski out. You can ski down to the tourist resorts and enjoy all the other activities."
Recent figures from the Ski Club of Great Britain revealed that France remains the most attractive draw for British skiers with 43 per cent seeking breaks on the country's slopes.
