The
Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) has unveiled an expansion plan that targets a ten per cent increase in the destination's hotel guest numbers for 2010.
As part of a rolling five-year plan, the emirate is also aiming for 15 per cent increases in visitor figures in 2011 and 2012, which would lead to the overall number of hotel guests in
Abu Dhabi reaching 2.3 million in three years' time.
New hotels, golf courses and other attractions are set to open in the destination in the near future to boost its potential and ensure that travellers continue to visit.
Mubarak Al Muhairi, the ADTA's director general, said: "We are fully committed to delivering value and performance for all stakeholders.
"The products and services we will deliver in carrying out our mandate will be broader in scope, more rigorous and more effective. We will adapt to change and continue to look strategically ahead."
Abu Dhabi is one of seven states that make up the
United Arab Emirates, with
Dubai, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah among the others.
