Malta 'to have a strong 2010'
Malta is set to have a strong year in 2010, according to the island nation's tourist board.
Alex Incorvaja, UK and Ireland director of the Malta Tourism Authority, said the destination boasts many attractions that appeal to Brits, including year-round sunshine and warm seas.
There are also several adventurous activities on offer, including rock climbing, yachting, cycling and hiking.
Mr Incorvaja commented on the accessibility of the country, predicting that it will improve next year.
"A number of new flight routes started in 2009 and more are planned for 2010, which means the Maltese islands will be even more easily accessible from the UK," he said.
"Malta is also great value for money despite being in the eurozone. This has really helped us in 2009 and we believe it will still be a big draw in 2010 as belts are still tight and the credit crunch is far from over."
Several carriers operate flights to Malta, including Air Malta, bmi and easyJet.
