Barcelona 'great for all budgets'

Travellers on all budgets can head to Barcelona and will have a good time, according to one expert.

María Luisa Albacar-Fracanzani, head of foreign relations at Barcelona Turisme, said that the Spanish city is ideal if people are on a budget, especially as there are low-cost flights available.

"Barcelona has a wide range of offerings, according to all kind of budgets," she added, adding that the top five spots are cheap places to visit.

Ms Albacar-Fracanzani said that the top cultural hotspots are the Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera; Park Güell, Picasso Museum and the Mirò Foundation, all of which are low cost.

Barcelona recently topped a list of the best 20 destinations from OnePoll, published earlier this month.

The organisation stated that it is a perfect weekend break for British people as it is only a short flight away and has a "super nightlife, architecture and it sees a lot of sun".
