Passengers travelling from
London City Airport will now get improved access to car hire facilities, after the airport carried out improvements.
A new onsite car hire centre has been opened, allowing a number of national and international companies to set up a base at the airport.
The adjustments are part of a bigger plan to improve the airport for customers, with this being the first phase of it.
Richard Gooding, chief executive of the
London base, said: "The relocation of the car hire facility marks the first phase in this project, which will see more space and comfort for travelling passengers."
As part of the car hire relocation, the facilities will also be open longer, running until 21:30 GMT Monday to Friday, 16:00 on Saturday and 21:30 on Sunday.
Other changes include an expanded first floor area, a new departure lounge and the addition of a passenger search facility.
Earlier this year, the airport was granted permission to cater for up to 120,000 flight movements each year.
