Many holidaymakers will be heading to
Tunisia next year, as it has been tipped as the top destination for 2010.
The Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) has predicted that Tunisia will be a leading holiday hotspot, as the popularity of traditional European destinations decreases.
Reports from the organisation's annual conference stated that cheaper flights to the country and additional seats are seeing it become more popular.
Sarah Smalley, managing director of market information company GfK Ascent-MI, spoke at the conference, saying that the average sales price is around £300 lower than
Egypt meaning it will do better next year.
The expert added that group holidays are looking busy for next year, with them accounting for around 30 per cent of all bookings to date.
However, figures from AITO showed that self-catering holidays are also looking less popular next summer, with people perhaps preferring all inclusive or half board stays.
Earlier this year the organisation stated that people can save money on their annual break by booking with a company which has financial protection, travelling in May and June and insuring themselves before they go.
