Czech Airlines has announced that, from today (November 24th), all of its flights to and from
Heathrow Airport will be based at Terminal 4.
The carrier's move from Terminal 2 is part of a plan being launched by SkyTeam to establish a single base at Heathrow for all of its members, which include
Air France,
Alitalia and
Delta Airlines.
Czech Airlines revealed that passengers will benefit from facilities including exclusive check-in counters, a new SkyTeam lounge and self-service kiosks.
Ladislav Bednar, the company's alliance coordinator, said: "The mutual cooperation of our members has a very positive effect on our passengers.
"This way, we are able to speed up certain processes, such as transfer or check-in, thereby offering more services and far greater comfort within the single corporate identity of the alliance."
The carrier's first service from Terminal 4 at Heathrow Airport, a flight to
Prague, departed today at 07:35 GMT.
Connections to several other SkyTeam alliance hubs operate from the terminal, including flights to
Amsterdam,
Mexico City,
Nairobi and
Seoul.
