New York museum launches Tim Burton exhibition
The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York has launched a new exhibition dedicated to the American director and artist Tim Burton.
Burton is recognised as one of the most expressive and visionary filmmakers working in the mainstream movie business today.
He has directed films such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Batman and Ed Wood, which are represented in the exhibition through storyboards, concept art, puppets, costumes and other memorabilia.
The display features over 700 examples of Burton's work in total, ranging from childhood drawings and paintings to photographs and moving image pieces.
Most of the items in the exhibition have rarely or never been shown in public before.
The New York MoMA is currently presenting displays that cater for various tastes.
People planning city breaks before January 25th 2010 will be able to see a show focusing on the Bauhaus architecture school, while those visiting before April 12th can look out for some paintings from Claude Monet's Water Lilies series.
