Germany has a lot to offer tourists, whether they want a luxury break or a festive market experience, according to one travel expert.
Katrin Lukosch, sales promotion manager at the German National Tourist Office, said that there is a lot to suit the luxury travel market, such as river cruises and spas, adding that it has "first-class city breaks of a high standard".
However, the expert said that the Christmas markets in Germany are a big pull for tourists, as they have a good atmosphere.
"Christmas markets are usually in very nice locations within the cities, like historic town squares in front of the cathedrals or at the riverside," Ms Lukosch stated.
She summed up the Christmas market experience by saying it is all about drinking mulled wine, eating festive food and buying craft items.
The
Dresden Christmas Market is located between Frauenkirche and Munzgasse and started today (November 26th), running until December 12th.
