Finnair teams up with UNICEF for water campaign
Passengers travelling on Finnair's international flights are being encouraged to donate money to a good cause during the course of their journey.
The airline has teamed up with UNICEF for this year's Change for Good campaign, which will see funds go towards the charity's clean water and environment programme for the children of India.
Running until January 10th, donated money can be placed in collection envelopes placed in seatback pockets, with raised money helping to improve sanitation, hygiene and clean water.
Christer Haglund, Finnair's senior vice president of communications, said that Finnair and its customers have so far raised almost 1 million for UNICEF's campaign.
"This is an effective and concrete way of improving conditions in the developing countries," he commented.
The carrier has been involved with UNICEF since 1994, with recent programmes having involved educational programmes in Rwanda and Nepal.
Last week, Finnair moved to Stockholm Arlanda Airport's Terminal 5 from Terminal 2, a more modern, spacious terminal.
