Britons 'not clued-up on vaccinations'
A significant proportion of Britons taking long-haul flights to Thailand or other exotic destinations lack a full awareness of what vaccinations they should take before jetting off.
While the popularity of trips to adventurous locations is continuing to rise, the new research suggests that many travellers are still far from knowledgeable when it comes to staying safe on their trips away.
Around 56 per cent of those polled by Post Office Travel Insurance admitted that they don't know which countries they would need medication or vaccinations to visit, while one in three could not remember what they have previously been vaccinated against.
Notably, the study also found that those globe-trotters taking flights to Russia, Bulgaria and Slovenia were most likely to be confused over their jabs.
"It is worrying to see that so many of us are careless when it comes to checking whether vaccines or preventative medicines such as malaria tablets are recommended before visiting a destination," commented the Post Office's Rachel Croft.
Meanwhile, travellers taking flights to Thailand in the New Year have been invited to join in the Ratchaphruek Festival, to be held in January to celebrate the King's 82nd birthday.
